3 Super-Tasty Natural Crock-Pot Dishes For Dinner & Delicious Leftovers

All hail the slow cooker, that time-saving, savory dinner-making wonder of the modern world. It's like having a live-in cook, only a whole lot less expensive. If you plan your week around Crock-Pot meals and prep everything ahead of time, you'll have the most painless dinners ever, and if you take the leftovers for lunch, you'll improve your health while saving money. What could be better?

No matter what you scrounge up in the Crock-Pot, it's exactly as flavorful as you would expect after so many hours of sloooow cookin', and it's even better the next day as leftovers. Here are three of our favorite slow cooker recipes that you'll be happy to eat two days in a row.

Sugar-Free Pulled BBQ Chicken

Slathered on a whole-wheat bun with homemade cole slaw, this slow-cooker BBQ chicken melts in your mouth, and it's totally sugar-free, thanks to our delicious, tangy Sugar-Free Organic Carolina Kick BBQ Sauce.

Season two boneless, skinless chicken breasts with sea salt and place in the Crock-Pot. In a small bowl, combine one cup of Organic Carolina Kick BBQ Sauce, stevia to taste, one tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt. Pour over the chicken and cook on high for 3 or 4 hours, then shred the chicken with two forks. Put the cover back on and cook for another 15 minutes before serving.

Southwest Style Black Beans

These delicious black beans are great in a pork burrito or eaten plain with a mess of white rice. Make sure you rinse the black beans thoroughly and pick out any rocks or clods of dirt.

In your slow cooker, dump two cups of dry black beans, a quartered onion, four peeled garlic cloves, two whole jalapeno peppers, one bay leaf, a teaspoon of salt, and one tablespoon of Simple Girl Sugar-Free Southwest Seasoning. Pour in enough water, vegetable broth, or chicken broth until there's one inch of liquid over the beans. Cook on low for eight hours.

Healthy Comfort Chicken

Nothing says comfort food like Crock-Pot chicken with richly seasoned carrots and potatoes. Plan to make this one when you know it's gonna be a rough day. Mmmm.

In the slow cooker, place an onion cut into ¼-inch thick slices, four new potatoes cut into ¼-inch chunks, and two cups of baby carrots. In a bowl, combine ¼ cup of chicken broth, ¼ cup of dry white wine (or make it a half cup of chicken broth if you don't want the wine), two minced cloves of garlic, ½ teaspoon each of salt and pepper, and a teaspoon of Simple Girl Sugar-Free All-Purpose Safe Seasoning. In a small bowl, combine ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper, and one teaspoon of Simple Girl Sugar-Free All-Purpose Safe Seasoning and rub it over six skinless bone-in chicken thighs. Lay the chicken on top of the vegetables and cook for six hours on low heat.
