4 Great Ways to Use Simple Girl's Natural, Sugar-Free Spices

Whether you're cutting down on added sugar or want to be sure your spices are filler- and chemical-free, Simple Girl's got you covered on the seasoning front. Our line of natural seasonings is sugar-, gluten-, oil-, and preservative-free, 100% vegan, diabetic friendly, and fiendishly flavorful.

Seasonings can really spice up an otherwise bland diet if your choices are restricted, and ours have no calories, no fat, no carbs, no nothin'. Nothin' but flavor.

Here are four of our favorites — and sometimes surprising — ways to use our seasoning selections to jazz up your dishes and excite your tastebuds.

  1. Make a bowl of popcorn really pop. Nothing satisfies a snack craving quite like popcorn, but if you sprinkle said popcorn with one of our delicious seasonings, you'll opt for that over chips or sweets every time. If you can't get enough genuine barbecue flavor in your life (who can?), try our sugar-free BBQ Seasoning. If you like it hot but not without a little sweet to even it out, opt for a few dashes of our sugar-free Sweet & Hot Louisiana Seasoning. Just sprinkle the seasoning over a bowl of popcorn and toss to evenly coat.
  2. Party with a bowl of seasoned nuts. If you're looking for a new addiction to take place of a bad sugar habit, or if you want to wow your party guests at your next gathering, whip up a big batch of these savory seasoned nuts. Heat four cups of unsalted nuts in a dry skillet over medium-high heat for about four minutes, stirring often. Add four tablespoons of butter and cook, stirring constantly, for another minute. Add ½ teaspoon of our sugar-free All-Purpose Safe Seasoning and ½ teaspoon of our sugar-free Sweet & Hot Louisiana Seasoning along with a teaspoon of salt and one tablespoon of water. Cook, stirring constantly, until the liquid thickens, and the nuts are beautifully glazed — about five minutes. Transfer the nuts to a baking sheet and let them cool before indulging.
  3. Fry up a plate of Southwest-style eggy tortillas. This one's a real favorite. It's easy-peasy, and it can feed a midnight craving or make a nice weekend breakfast treat along with a side of potatoes and green chilies. Heat ⅛ cup of canola oil over medium-high heat in a skillet. Cut six corn tortillas into quarters, and toss them in the hot oil and stir to evenly coat. Salt them lightly and sprinkle generously with our sugar-free Southwest Seasoning. Beat an egg in a small bowl, and pour it over the tortillas, stirring to coat evenly. Cook, stirring, until the egg is firm, and the tortilla quarters are light golden.
  4. Roast up a mess of Cajun potatoes. These delicious sweet 'n spicy potatoes are great paired with an omelet for breakfast or a grilled steak for dinner. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Cut two large russet potatoes into small chunks. Toss in two tablespoons of olive oil, then sprinkle with sugar-free Sweet & Hot Louisiana Seasoning, a teaspoon of kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper to taste, and toss again. Lay the potatoes on a large baking sheet with sides and roast, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until they're golden brown.
